About the Old Bridge Militia Foundation
What is it all about. It all starts with a town called Old Bridge, NJ, who had a big impact on the music scene on the east coast in the 1980’s which kept going into the 90’s. Not only was it just our group of friends out their supporting but it seemed like the whole town was backing the Heavy Metal music scene at the time. It was about being in the right place at the right time. Who better to finish the next chapter in this story than the people who lived through it and boy what a story it is. To be able to start a charity foundation wrapped around this unique time in the music scene is amazing and something we could have never thought would happen. Now this is what its all about, giving back. Through the thing that brought us all together. Music. Now being able to help out kids with music lessons and being able to give money to school music programs is just the start and with your support who knows how far we can take this foundation. Many thanks to Jim Florentine , Don Jamieson, Dan The Song Parody Man, and Legenedary DJ Alex Kayne who without hesitation helped launch our first event. We would also like to thank Tony Squindo who went above and beyond with helping bring the Old Bridge Militia Foundation™ logo to life. As well as Andy Ellis who made it possible for us to get the 501(c)(3) foundation started with his very generous donation, and a very special thank you to Metallica and Q Prime(Tony and Marc) for their support to help us get this foundation off the ground and making a difference in peoples lives.
Now, over three decades later, The Old Bridge Militia Foundation™ continues to support with that same giving spirit, in addition to honoring members we lost along the way. A portion of The Old Bridge Militia Foundation’s™ important work initiatives is designed to help and inspire anyone who might be interested in learning about music, especially younger members of the community. Funds raised by those initiatives go to those who do not have the financial means to purchase instruments or lessons. The Old Bridge Militia Foundation is always interested in partnering with other foundations that share their passion for giving back to the community and our youth. The Old Bridge Militia Foundation™ is a 100% non-profit 501 C3 charity foundation, with a mission to prove that people of the hard rock and heavy metal community can join together in helping people who are truly in need.
